Remarks: | This Chinook belongs to 18/27 Squadron and had a nightstop at Athens airport for crew rest and refueling. The fuselage is heavily weathered from operations at the deserts of Afghanistan. This model is well equipped for Special Operations with defensive aids and has Radar Warning Receivers, Ultraviolet and Doppler Missile Approach Warning System, infrared jammers below the engines and chaff and flare dispensers at middle of the fuselage and FLIR pod on the nose. Usually it is armed with two M134 six-barrelled Miniguns, one in each front side window, and an M60D machine gun on the ramp. |
